What is InTruck?
InTruck is the driver's app — a mobile product used by over 100,000 truck drivers across Europe to plan journeys, find truck parking, washing and facilities, and book their stops in a few taps. The brief was a full UX & UI redesign of the app: a fresh interface, a smarter map, and new functionality to support an ambitious product roadmap.
Key Features
- Map view with facility filters and keys — parking, washing, depot stops
- Location preview cards so drivers can judge a stop before opening it
- Restructured site profiles with availability up top and accordion sections
- Sticky “book parking” call to action on profiles where parking is available
- Streamlined booking flow with availability checkers and quick book
- Saved payment details, vehicle registrations and favourite stops
- Account creation and onboarding flow with feature splash screens
Technical Highlights
- Built as a cross-platform mobile app with React Native and Expo
- Interactive stop finder powered by Mapbox with clustered markers and custom facility pins
- Design system, wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes built in Figma
- Typed end to end with TypeScript for a safe design-to-development handover
- Booking, payment and registration details persisted to the driver profile for quick booking
The Challenge
InTruck wanted to become the app of choice for lorry drivers, with an ambitious roadmap and plans to expand into new markets. The existing app made drivers tap into every stop to learn anything useful, the booking flow was long, and there was no account layer — so nothing could be saved and nothing could be measured. The challenge was a market leading experience that still felt simple in a cab, at night, on a phone.
The Solution
We benchmarked the trucking marketplace, mapped the driver journey, and rebuilt the interface around it. The map now surfaces facilities and previews at a glance, profiles lead with parking availability and a sticky book action, and the booking flow was cut down with availability checkers and quick book. A new onboarding flow gets drivers into an account, so payment details, registrations and favourite stops are saved for next time — and InTruck finally has usage data to build on. The design system was scoped to grow with the roadmap.
